On The Board

We want to help make education easier, fun and engaging.

We provide primary teachers with high quality, well written, and easily accessible video content to celebrate and educate children about special events and also promote tolerance and respect through learning.

Our videos aim to help teachers support learners by “developing their understanding and appreciation of diversity; celebrating what we have in common and promoting respect,” as required by OFSTED (Guidance Education Inspection Framework – 2023).

Our content is here to help you teach a broad and balanced curriculum by being specifically scripted to meet National Curriculum and Early Years Foundation Stage requirements.

Our Story

On The Board was founded when Sarah, a teacher, who had been in the classroom for over a decade, thought I want my own children, in school and at home, to learn with the right materials. Nothing that ticked every box could be found.

Sarah wanted children to learn and laugh, to engage and explore, and to remember and reflect. She realised there weren’t any high quality, entertaining, accessible video resources to teach children about their world.

So she sat on the sofa and looked left at her husband John, and there was the presenter she needed  (a professional actor and magician for over 20 years) to start getting these important messages across to children… and to make the information stick! After many a discussion they called on the creative talents of Simon to work his technical wizardry to bring their vision to your screens.

And so On The Board was launched.

On The Board’s videos explain the who, what, where, why, when and how of special events around the world. They also include a call to action to promote proactive learning.

This is just the beginning... there are an endless number of topics that we will cover in order to empower teachers to inspire children to understand, appreciate and celebrate diversity... so jump on board to access engaging and educational content.
